Mechanical Equipment Package Engineer

MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT PACKAGE ENGINEER, required by our client, an international oil and gas Operator, to be hired on a contract basis, located in Noida, India.
 
Project Rotation: 12 on 2
 
POSITION SCOPE
 
  • Deliver equipment package engineering to ensure that the Project's requirements are executed to meet customer, applicable Classification, statutory rules and project specifications on time and within budget
  • Stewards the interfaces among the PMT and the EPC contractor's organization with respect to equipment packages to ensure quality design
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with applicable Codes and Standards within the boundaries of the Basis of Design
 
 
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Review of drawings reports and specifications for equipment packages
  • Review technical bid evaluations, datasheets and technical specifications for equipment packages
  • Review and approval of Vendor documents
  • Participate in HAZOP (as needed) to ensure a safe and reliable operation
  • Participate in vendor technical bid clarification meetings
  • Vendor document review and co-ordination with the other disciplines
  • Liaise with all related project disciplines to ensure package equipment specified complies with project and regulatory requirements
  • Where required conduct or direct vendor visits to establish equipment and/or layout constraints in the design and be able to work with process, I&C and piping layout engineers to recommend the most economical solutions
  • Safety - Responsible for personal safety--safe working practices for the position
 
 
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • A recognized engineering degree in Mechanical or equivalent discipline
  • +15 years of package equipment engineering experience in the oil & gas environment
  • Offshore rotating machinery experience on FPSO or other types of floating production units
  • Hands on experience with large gas turbine driven compressors, pumps & generators is mandatory  
  • Experience with the development of layouts for new facilities
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritisation of work to achieve them
  • Strong and broad technical knowledge across most aspects of oil & gas
  • Must have strong management and leadership skills and be capable of easily and productively working in a multi-cultural team environment.
  • Dynamic and enthusiastic approach is essential
  • Specialist experience with the design and specification of Package Equipment, detailed knowledge on the Suppliers in the market with a good understanding on the design of pressure vessels / drums, chemical injection, heat exchanger design, pumps and/or compressors
