SENIOR AUTHORISED PERSON, required by our client, an renewable energies company, to be hired on a contract basis, located in Grimsby, UK.
POSITION SCOPE
- The primary responsibility of the role is to ensure safety from the system to the offshore transmission assets managed by the client's in accordance to the Safety Rules and to carry out and supervise associated inspection and maintenance activities.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organisational Context (to include impact and influence)
- Working closely with other departments including onshore Asset Management and O&M departments.
- Regular communication with clients and external contractors.
- Key Accountabilities
- Taking a lead role in ensuring safety from the system on managed offshore transmission assets, including but not limited to:
- Preparing, issuing and cancelling safety documents
- Carrying out switching, isolation and earthing duties
- Acting as Control Engineer
- Preparing switching schedules
- Delivering competent person training
- Managing the interface between transmission system boundaries with Generator and NETSO as required
- Producing and reviewing method statements and risk assessments
- Producing maintenance plans for HV equipment
- Maintaining the asset register
- Management and/or delivery of planned and unplanned maintenance activities on electrical equipment
- Producing final reports
- Competency and skills to:
- Collate site and SCADA information to facilitate effective decision making in delivering fault identification and rectification
- Project manage offshore activities
- Lead an offshore team in the execution of the works
- On-Call: the SAP is expected to participate in a call out rota to provide emergency response outside of normal working hours and w.e.s
- The role also includes the following responsibilities:
- Support the production and review of relevant procedures, processes and technical literature
- Support as required other onshore projects of the wider UK project portfolio
- Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
- Extensive knowledge and experience of working under HV Safety Rules
- Good knowledge of HV equipment including cables, transformers and switchgears (GIS and AIS)
- LV & HV fault finding and analysis
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work safely at all times
- Technical aptitude for the analysis of complex HV equipment
- Project management
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team
- Capable of working offshore and at height
- Physically fit, the role will require climbing / transferring to offshore structures
- Ability to use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
- Experience of the offshore wind industry
- Current (within last 12 months) experience working in a Senior Authorised Person at 132 kV / 400kV
- Experience of electrical networks from LV to 400 kV
- Experience of using Scada systems for the purpose of remote monitoring and interrogation of assets
- Previously Senior Authorised / Authorised Person with a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) or National Grid (evidence of previous authorisations required)
- Experience of HV systems up to 132 kV / 400kV and associated equipment and protection systems
- Experience of working in multidiscipline teams
- An HND in electrical engineering, or equivalent qualification, but proven working background in HV electricity
- GWO Training (desirable, however full training will be given)
- Hold a full clean driving license
