Piping Materials Specialist

 
PIPING MATERIALS SPECIALIST, required by our client, an international oil and gas Operator, to be hired on a contract basis, located in Paris, France.
 
 
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Prepare requisitions of piping equipment based on the buying strategy
  • Reconciliation of final quantities
  • Manage the quantities of material (shortage / surplus)
  • Prepare consultation and order files
  • Check the adequacy of the equipment offered by suppliers in agreement with specifications / codes
  • Technically analyse and track suppliers (technical issues & deviations)
  • Prepare technical comparison tables
  • update the list of manual valves and accessories (components in lines)
  • Approve supplier documents based on the specialist class of piping and valves
  • Select, prepare and update the range of piping equipment based on the standard class repository
  • Inform related teams (PID, CAD, Projects, etc.) of the evolution of the equipment database
  • Check the specifications of components outside of piping equipment range (filters, traps, etc.)
  • Participate in the approval of external services (documents, equipment receipts, etc.)
  • Recommend solutions with the best overall cost
  • Optimize plumbing in accordance with codes and standards
  • Participate in the search and validation of new potential suppliers
  • Maintain and update existing standards (evolution of hardware: technological and economic intelligence, consistency with other standards, etc.)
  • Analyse non-compliance anomalies, incidents and problems
  • Participate in the development (or improvement) and validation of tools
  • Assist and technically support internal and external customers
  • Prepare datasheet specifications for piping equipment.
