ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING MANAGER required by our Client, an Oil and Gas EPC, to be assigned on a Permanent basis, located in Houston, TX.
POSITION SCOPE
This Houston based Engineering Manager will be instrumental in supporting our Clients Vision & Mission which includes establishing our firstclass engineering and project delivery services and solutions in North American markets.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:
Oversee Electrical Engineering discipline for our Client; allocating and managing resources as needed.
Develop, review, and approve scopes of work and key milestones, staffing schedules, and engineering man-hour estimates to ensure that projects are completed within established budget, quality, and schedule parameters.
Drive project work, training, and quality, leveraging resources as appropriate, ensuring projects are compliant with our Clients the standards including the safety and operability of the new and modified assets.
Ensure alignment with established project work processes & deliverables; tracking and reporting progress made on all active projects.
Prioritize project portfolio according to business and strategic drivers.
Coordinate with Project Managers and other discipline managers to ensure proper prioritization and technical oversight of projects.
Drive knowledge and skill development of the electrical engineering team.
Deliver electrical engineering capability for success: identify & resource contract support (e.g. specialty needs, software, hardware, etc…)
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering required; Masters preferred.
20+ years' electrical engineering experience.
Minimum 7 years supervisory experience.
P.E. license preferred
Must be familiar with the National Electrical Code and API standards, including sections relevant to electrical installations in hazardous locations and in the classification of hazardous areas.
A self-starter; well organized, detail-oriented and capable of prioritizing numerous tasks to meet tight deadlines
A critical thinker, with the ability to analyse problems and develop creative solutions
Tech savvy, with the ability to learn new systems quickly; Oracle experience is an asset
