Commercial & Consents Director

COMMERCIAL AND CONSENT DIRECTOR required by our client, a specialised provider of project development and construction management services, to be hired on a contract basis, located in Seoul, Korea.  
 
 
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:  
 
  • Own the end-to-end consenting process to develop, construct and operate offshore wind assets, in close cooperation with the EPC team
  • Lead commercial grid and PPA related matters  
  • Lead commercial onshore, offshore and harbour lease processes
  • Ensure the timely application of all required consents, permits and leases
  • Manage the compliance of consent and lease obligations
  • Lead DEVEX, CAPEX and OPEX inputs in relation to consents and leases  
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders including the project team, consultants, contractors, investors, lenders, regulators, land owners, NGOs, public and other developers
  • Perform line management duties  
  • Support country management activities as part of the management team
 
 
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS  
 
  • 5 years' experience in the offshore wind or similar industry
  • Fluency in English with a very good understanding of Asian cultures
  • Experience in commercial and/or consenting roles, and are a highly competent coordinator and communicator:
  • Demonstrated project and line management capabilities  
  • A solid understanding of offshore wind farm requirements and environmental sensitivities (offshore, onshore and grid interface)
  • Good commercial skills including business case, negotiation and contractual skills
  • Experience working with regulators and interfacing with authorities at different levels, especially within Asia
  • Hold a master's degree in science, engineering, business or similar  
  • Practical experience from similar commercial or consenting roles in large infrastructure projects
  • Have excellent communication and personal skills:
  • A global mind-set with an ability to communicate clearly  
  • Perseverance with an ability to prioritise and execute tasks to meet deadlines  
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Strong relationship management and networking skills. Proactive and co-operative way of working and high attention to detail  
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English
