PROJECT MANAGER required by our client, to be hired on a permanent basis in Chicago, USA.
POSITION SCOPE
- This person would help running ground improvement projects, assisting with bidding work. May help with bidding/developing projects.
- Surveying using Topcon GR‐5 (or similar)
- Daily inspection of our ground improvement installation
- Grout/concrete QA/QC
- Installation log processing
- CAD work
- Preparation of production tracking depth map
- Obtain field measurements
- Document record copy details
- Final Report Preparation
- Single Element - ASTM 1143 Load Testing
- Install, setup, run, tear down, transmit data
- Column Integrity Testing
- Daily reporting ‐ production tracking, map updating, log review, summaries, observations and issues onsite, directions / questions from client
- Occasional casting of cylinders
- Observations of excavation and material placement by Others
- Estimating
- Quantity takeoffs
- Geotechnical soil classification
- Provides technical, quality control and administrative support to Superintendents, Project
Managers, and Construction Managers on jobsites
- Provides estimating and takeoff support to Sales Manager while in Regional office.
- Administratively reports to the Engineering Manager: Project Engineer is a crucial link between the project site and our design office
- When assigned to a project, monitors and reports daily production directly to the Project Manager Develops business and searches for new opportunities and clients
- Establishes new and maintains existing relationships with our customers
- Reviews and interprets civil, structural and geotechnical construction documents
- Ensures that all client, OSHA, MSHA, and site‐specific safety regulations are followed / enforced
- Performs and manages field quality control tests and production records
- Runs small work crews (technical tasks like water testing, load testing, etc.)
- Performs basic field surveys, prepares sketches to support construction work
- Prepares RFI's and assists in preparation of change order documentation
- Ensures all installation follows client project specific procedural submittal
- Tracks invoices, takes care of documentation and submittals
- Review and analyze geotechnical reports
- Comprehensive review of project documentation (civil, structural, roadway drawings & specifications)
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Basic knowledge of construction equipment and techniques (i.e. drawings, specifications, building materials, surveying, design or geotechnical work)
- Basic knowledge of various civil engineering disciplines
