SMARTPLANT ENGINEER (SPELL) required by our Client, to be assigned on a Contract basis, located in Houston, TX.
POSITION SCOPE
This role is primarily to support the design functions on electrical equipment and systems for new construction. This role will apply electrical engineering techniques and analyses and the selected candidate will be proficient in electrical engineering schematics and standards. You will work with electrical CAD designers to create and review drawings and provide technical input on drawings and specifications suitable for electrical procurement and system installation.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare electrical engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, designs, specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
You may be asked to prepare detailed requisitions for electrical equipment and related materials as well as review supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
Set-up, configure, administer and support the SmartPlant Electrical configuration.
Design and modify new and existing electrical systems in SmartPlant Electrical to generate deliverables and assist others in doing the same.
Perform and lead day to day production activities in an integrated multi-disciplinary SmartPlant environment.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
Proof of U.S. Citizenship Required
Individual must be capable of obtaining a Kennedy Space Center site security badge
B.S. in electrical engineering from an accredited university
Strong understanding of electrical engineering, principles of electrical networks, project delivery, and other related disciplines' workflows.
Demonstrated training and proficiency as a Discipline Application Specialist using SmartPlant Electrical, SmartPlant 3D, SmartSketch, and SmartPlant Foundation required.
Basic database knowledge, good knowledge of SmartPlant database schemas and tables, ability to write SQL queries required with MS SQL or Oracle SQL*Plus and VBA basic skills are a plus.
