Offshore Array / Export Cable Installation Man

OFFSHORE ARRAY OR EXPORT CABLE INSTALLATION MANAGER required by our client, to be hired on a contract basis, located in Taiwan.

POSITION SCOPE  
 
  • Manage cable installation contractor and installation activities
 
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Ensure that the installation contract is followed
  • Ensure that any deviations or NCR's are handled in accordance with Company requirements
  • Provision of support to Project Managers and cooperate with the Project team
  • Proactively build a constructive relationship with all stakeholders including contractors
  • Comply with guidelines and industry standards in force, as well as local requirements
  • Ensure identification and handling of Product Quality risks (CTQ) including inputs from Design, Fabrication, Installation and Commissioning
  • Ensure control of CTQs is transferred and managed in Quality Activity Schedule (QAS) for design
  • Ensure planning of design reviews and approvals
  • Ensure compliance to Requirements in product design and to Technical Employers Requirements in product installation
  • After contract signing ensure handling and updating of Critical to Quality (CTQ) and transfer to Quality Activity Schedule (QAS)
 
Tasks  
 
  • Analyse, recommend and optimise offshore installation, logistics concepts and installation procedures prior to and during installation.
  • Prepare technical invitation-to-tender documents
  • In cooperation with Package and Contract manager; tender, negotiate and recommend installation contracts incl. MWS.
  • Manage offshore installation contractor and MWS incl. cross discipline cooperation within the project team.
  • Ensure contractor's delivery and own review of method statements and risk assessments
  • Set up and implement HAZID/HAZOP for installation design / offshore installation operations.
  • Provide progress reports to PM for all managed contracts incl. all significant technical risks, and develop contingency plans.
  • Supervise and approve trialing, tool development, loading and vessel setup
  • Supervise installation campaign initiation offshore
  • Manage Client's Representatives and QA Daily Progress Report
  • Create, monitor and Control execution of Design Quality (Reporting) and QAS and align input from Supplier quality
  • Management of product NCR
  • Review of method statements from Supplier
  • Review of product and as-built documentation during AP execution phase

  • In cooperation with contract manager and according to the project Authorisation Matrix, negotiate contracts, incl. variation orders & claims, recommend changes to procurement/contract strategy and best tenders for the scope.
  • Agree interface handling actions with related suppliers
 
 
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS  
 
  • Hold a MSc diploma or other relevant master's degree certificate
  • Project management level: PMP certified or equivalent
  • Contract management level: Proficiency in FIDIC contract
  • Recommended 5 years of relevant and similar work experience within wind and/or offshore construction
