BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT/COUNTRY MANAGER required by our client to be assigned on a Permanent basis, located in London, UK.

POSITION SCOPE
We are looking for an experienced manager to manage the day-to-day operations and development of our UK branch. Our future team member must be ready to build further and adapt the Company's model to the UK, provide inspired leadership, establish a great working relationship with the board and set a course for company strategy. The right candidate must have a great understanding of the soil trading market in the UK. Ideally, with a background in “muck away” haulage, earthworks or soil management.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Will accelerate and consolidate the development of the UK entity. To do so, in a first hands-on phase, you will oversee the:
Commercial development
- Follow and develop our client portfolio,
- Build partnerships with other organisations
Operations
- Organise day-to-day operation of the company
Financial and legal supervision
- Assure the company's fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing
- Assure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations
Marketing
- Develop the image of the brand (contests, communication…)
Market monitoring
- Attend conferences, meetings, industry events…
Strategic development
- Identify and address problems and opportunities
- Work with the executive board to determine values and mission, and plan for short and long-term goals
Team management
- Create an environment that promotes great performance and positive morale
- Work closely with the human resource department to ensure great hiring
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in a relevant discipline or MBA
- 5 to 10 years' experience in the haulage industry or soil or construction
- Proven leadership
- Autonomy, proactivity and capability to handle uncertainty
- Proven negotiation skills
- Ability to understand new issues quickly and make wise decisions
- Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively
