Country Manager

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT/COUNTRY MANAGER required by our client to be assigned on a Permanent basis, located in London, UK.

POSITION SCOPE
 
We are looking for an experienced manager to manage the day-to-day operations and development of our UK branch. Our future team member must be ready to build further and adapt the Company's model to the UK, provide inspired leadership, establish a great working relationship with the board and set a course for company strategy. The right candidate must have a great understanding of the soil trading market in the UK. Ideally, with a background in “muck away” haulage, earthworks or soil management.
 
 
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
 
 
  • Will accelerate and consolidate the development of the UK entity. To do so, in a first hands-on phase, you will oversee the:

Commercial development
 
  • Follow and develop our client portfolio,
  • Build partnerships with other organisations
 
Operations
 
  • Organise day-to-day operation of the company
 
Financial and legal supervision
 
  • Assure the company's fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing
  • Assure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations
 
Marketing
 
  • Develop the image of the brand (contests, communication…)
 
Market monitoring
 
  • Attend conferences, meetings, industry events…
 
Strategic development
 
  • Identify and address problems and opportunities
  • Work with the executive board to determine values and mission, and plan for short and long-term goals
 
Team management
 
  • Create an environment that promotes great performance and positive morale
  • Work closely with the human resource department to ensure great hiring
 
 
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Degree in a relevant discipline or MBA
  • 5 to 10 years' experience in the haulage industry or soil or construction
  • Proven leadership
  • Autonomy, proactivity and capability to handle uncertainty
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Ability to understand new issues quickly and make wise decisions
  • Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively
