PROJECT ENGINEER required by our client on a permanent basis, located in Houston, TX.

POSITION SCOPE
The Project manager will be responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, executive, control and completion of projects, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments and goals of the organization and clients. The Project Manager will be in charge of schedules, budgets, resources and deliverables for project. Monitors teams to make sure goals and objectives are being kept.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify and establish relationships with strategically important clients
Coordinate completion of ongoing services and also identify and develop opportunities to grow work scope
Lead the development of proposals for new scope of work and change orders to address scope growth in existing projects
Development and implementation of Project Management systems that will become a part of the International offering to clients
Hands-on" involvement in management of strategically important projects, including:
Drive project ownership and accountability through seamless progression of project execution responsibilities including project plan estimate and schedule development gate approval, detail engineering, contracting/procurement, field execution mechanical completion, facility start up, operation turn over, and project close outs
Full oversight and management of projects with a focus on safety, design quality, budget, schedule, and change management process compliance
Compliance to all client specs as part of project development and detailed engineering activities
Contractor management and performance oversight to ensure scope expectations are achieved (Engineering / Construction)
Full compliance to capital projects work processes and procedures
Execution alignment with project development and project controls groups
Interface between project group and business units to support progression and completion of business team related project deliverables
Regular project updates to support monthly / quarterly project stewardship reports
Driving quality of execution deliverables in all project development / execution stages per client quality process
Overall development and ownership of field quality execution plan to support construction activities
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
15+ years of experience in related role
Strong project management experience, preferably in the petrochemical, refining and oil / gas sector
Previous EPC/EPCM experience is required
Multi-discipline experience: knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines (process, civil/structural, instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, piping)
Working knowledge of planning and control methods
General understanding of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria
Proficiency in a variety of standard project management methods and techniques
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong organizational, leadership and teamwork skills
