Project Director

PROJECT DIRECTOR required by our client, to be hired on a contract basis, initially located in USA, Texas, Houston, then tranferring to the Netherlands

POSITION SCOPE  
 
  • The Project Manager (PD) is overall responsible for the complete scope of work and ensures that the complete scope of work is executed in accordance with MDR execution procedures and delivered on time, within budget, in a safe manor and in accordance with the required quality standards and project specifications.
 
 
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES  
 
  • Complete scope of work as it is associated with the approved CAPEX ACE.
  • Report to the Project Sponsor for all project issues
  • Manage, leads and will be overall responsible for the complete SOW and its execution as it related to the ACE  
  • Ensuring project meets or exceeds budgeted financial objectives  
  • Creating and managing the overall baseline budget (Managing changes to the budget, forecasting, controlling budget shifts).
  • Creating and managing overall baseline schedule (resource allocation, re-scheduling, identifying/managing critical path, managing progress, forecasting)
  • Manages project within budget limits
  • Accountable for and final approval of expenditures
  • Accountable for, and final approval of expenses incurred are allowable, reasonable, and allocable to relevant project budget to which they are to be charged
  • Obtaining approvals for budget changes when required
  • Responsible for overall Project Execution and associated execution plan and ensuring the execution is in accordance with the plan and relevant Project Execution Procedures, Quality standards and MDR's policies
  • Reviews high-level deliverables  
  • Ensures engagement of the project team.
  • Final responsibility in resolving issues as they relate to the SOW and its execution and/or escalate such issues which cannot be resolved within the PMT
  • Managing, identifying and controlling changes
  • Identifying, determining and managing risks and opportunities to the project
  • Coordinating and fostering teamwork
  • Managing project team performance  
  • Responsible for formal reporting requirements on project progress
  • Defining criteria for control and management of the project
  • Assisting the direct rapports in the resolution of problems
  • Reviewing rapports on the project from the PM's
  • Ensuring timely decisions to project team
  • Establishing, with the PM, a common approach in resolving major issues that may arise
  • Ensuring a regular dialogue with the project team to promote problem solving, team working and risk sharing
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Managing the progress of the vendors and subcontractors  
  • Acting as sole point of contact with the main contractor
  • Ensuring a regular dialogue with contractor to promote problem solving, team working and risk sharing
  • Establishes maintains a close and productive relationship
  • Initiate and leading timely progress meetings
  • Final authorization of SOW changes through the MOC procedure
 
Project team    
 
  • Responsible for staffing the project team
  • Facilitate communication between Project Team members and other stakeholders
  • Initiate and lead weekly project status meeting, identify actions and ensures close out of actions
  • Responsible for overall team and team members performance (hiring/firing)
  • Allocation of work within project team
  • In conjunction with Project Director develops man power requirements for the scope of work
  • Managing overall project execution  
  • Provide weekly progress reports and monthly project status reports
  • Delegation of responsibilities for managing various scope of works
  • Final responsibility for Identifying and mitigating of project Risks and opportunities and developing plans to mitigate such risks
  • Identifying project KPI's and based on KPI's identifying areas of improvement
