Vice President, Operations

VICE PRESIDENT - OPERATIONS, required by our client, to be hired on a Permanent basis, located in Houston Texas, before transferring to site location.

POSITION SCOPE    
 
  • The Vice President, Operations is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient world-class operation and maintenance of the plant to meet customers' delivery and quality requirements and for fully complying with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • This person will manage plant activities through the direct supervision of Directors and Managers who are responsible for the engineering, maintenance, operations, process technology, and administration and planning activities of the Plant and through the indirect supervision of the HSE, external affairs and HR activities.

    2. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops annual operating and capital budgets/plans to meet the production and continuing operating needs of the plant.
  • Ensures the maintenance of the technical integrity and security of the plant in both the short and long term.
  • Develops and maintains management systems, policies and procedures to ensure reliable, safe and consistent operation of the plant.
  • Develops and maintains an HSE management system and an HSE participative and pro-active culture for the plant.
  • Personally, takes part in internal management audits and visits.
  • Establishes the performance goals for the operating organization based on the objectives established.
  • Manages and co-ordinates technical improvements and modifications of the plant as required and maintains safe, efficient and cost competitive operations.
  • Manages the overall relationships between the Client and the local community, the United States Coast Guard, the FERC, DOT, LADEQ, Corp of Engineers, Pilots, Port Authority and other local, state and federal authorities having jurisdiction over the plant.
  • Develops, establishes and directs execution of operating policies to support overall company policies and objectives.
  • Advises the management team on key O&M issues.
  • Establishes operational processes and process improvement.
  • Fosters skills and competencies development among plant staff through adequate HR and training policies.

    2. EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 15 years of industrial operating experience with at least 2 years of experience in a similar position of responsibility and expertise in an operating LNG Liquefaction facility of similar magnitude and design.
  • Experience in a south-eastern United States community and culture would be highly desirable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Solid working knowledge of financial management.
  • Ability to maintain a very high level of HSE performance within the organization.
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
