PROJECT MANAGER required by our Client, an International Oil and Gas Operator, to be assigned on a Contract basis, located in Afungi, Mozambique (28/28 roatation).

POSITION SCOPE
This position is for a general Project Manager working on behalf of the Company. As a Company project representative there is an implied duty to cooperate, facilitate, encourage and support the EPC and their Subcontractors to the best of your ability to achieve the expected project outcomes.
The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the site works are properly managed and executed by the EPC and their approved Subcontractors in accordance with the Contract Agreement.
This role requires the Project Manager to work and interface with other Company Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, Planners, Authorities and the EPC Contractor, Vendors and Subcontractors to ensure key Contract deliverables are met.
The key deliverables are; safety compliance, environmental management, assurance, budget management and control, project schedule milestones and adherence to the detailed specifications and standards to fully execute the works in accordance with the EPC Contract and EPC Contractor written practices.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The general execution scope for the Project Manager OSBL Site works is inclusive of a variety of multiple disciplines and interfaces, typically this will include;
Manage a site construction team dedicated to the OSBL
Liaison with EPC Contractor Project Manager, Construction Director, HSE Manager, QA Manager, HR Manager and other key personnel on site.
Establishing the strategy and tactics for the OSBL works with EPC contractor's on-site reps
Liaison with company reps in engineering, procurement, contracts, project controls and commissioning in Contractor Home Office
Liaison with Contractor key personnel reps in the Contractor Home Office
Attending model reviews, constructability reviews and other important reviews in the Contractor Home Office
Ensuring compliance with all HSE and regulatory requirements
Surveillance assurance and reporting on the OSBL works
Key Responsibilities
OSBL responsibilities include:
Marine facilities including Early Beach Landing and Temporary Beach Landing, Material Offloading Facility, Jetty and Loading berths
Onshore facilities include storage tanks, power generation, utilities, services, plant buildings and non-pant buildings
For both the marine facilities and onshore facilities:
Site establishment and early work preparation
survey and benchmark control
civil and marine interface works
structural interface works
piping interface works
mechanical interface works
electrical & instrumentation interface works
temporary and permanent building works
temporary and permanent roads works
General Job Responsibilities
Compliance, oversight, guidance and support to the EPC
Support the implementation of the Company HSE Policies and procedures
Support the implementation of the Company Assurance program and processes
Compliance with the Company Security protocols
Provide safety leadership to EPC Contractor to achieve best in class safety performances on site
Actively participate in site leadership safety review, safety walks, site safety briefings and meetings
Monitor and report on EPC compliance to project HSE and Quality Assurance requirements
Monitoring and Review of EPC related Assurance activities and verification documentation
Assure EPC is performing all works in accordance with the approved plans and procedures
Site surveillance and reporting of EPC construction progress against approved schedules
Work closely with EPC construction teams to ensure a concise and clear understanding of all applicable engineering designs, project specifications and standards,
Complete reviews and comments for assurance approvals
Monitor and review construction practices, including design control, document control, interface
Provide detailed daily records and reports as required by line management
Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of EPC construction practices
Attend Construction management progress, planning meetings and workshops,
Report all incidents and near misses immediately,
Comply with a duty of care to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times.
Adhere to the Business Principles and Code of Conduct at all times
EXPERIENCE
Specific experience and expertise in the following areas is required:
Previous experience in a similar role(s) on a large scale project(s) with a history of safety leadership,
Minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience with 5 working on multi-billion oil and gas projects, including management of contractors
Proven track record of working as a Company representative on EPC lump sum LNG projects
Proven ability to liaise professionally with EPC Contractor and other key stakeholders on site
Advanced knowledge of general construction activities for onshore LNG Facilities, buildings and associated disciplines, such as survey, civil, structural, piping, mechanical, electrical and instruments
Knowledge of appropriate codes, standards and good construction and engineering practices specifically within the civil, structural, mechanical, piping and electrical construction disciplines.
Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GA, SLD's & P&ID's
Proven ability to interpret and manage project schedules and report against EPC field progress
Proven ability to manage and influence a team and develop an effective culture through respect
Advanced computer skills for MS office, Adobe and Database software applications
A sound understanding of financial controls and project budgets
Proficient English language skills, both verbal and written,
Effective communication and leadership skills,
Team player who is able to foster relationships, and think outside the box,
Ability to deliver a culture committed to safely delivering the Project targets
Ability to schedule priorities and multi-task within the assigned EPC Contract packages
Able to work autonomously with minimal technical guidance and instruction
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
A degree/diploma qualification or equivalent in related discipline field and/or LNG construction projects required
Professional qualification in project management, construction management or other suitable discipline
Language
Fluent oral and written knowledge of English
Knowledge of Portuguese is advantageous.
