SUBCONTRACTS CLAIMS MANAGER required by our Client, an construction company, to be hired on a full-time basis, located inNorfolk, VA.
Develop HRCP’s subcontractor management plan. Promote good contracting practices, and train the construction team.
Maintain constant communication with the construction team, attend meetings as needed to acquire the necessary level of understanding of commercial issues.
Help enforce the terms and conditions of the subcontracts and the Prime Contract. Help in the resolution of commercial issues with subcontractors. Review draft correspondences from construction team. Review subcontractor’s requests for contract adjustments.
Monitor flow of formal correspondences between HRCP and subcontractors and ensure that timely responses are provided.
Review and comment the main subcontractors monthly report.
Identify and report commercial issues with subcontractors involving VDOT within the required notification period.
Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum 5 years’ experience with construction and/or engineering subcontracts required.
Subcontract experience within a heavy civil general contractor on large-scale projects strongly preferred.
Experience in heavy civil engineering design with the ability to understand technical documentation.
Proven written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and multitasking ability.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline oriented capacity.
