Planner / Planning Engineer

General
You are responsible to your Manager stated above for the execution of your individual job responsibilities. You shall:

  • support your Manager and the staff under your control;
  • maintain a good working relationship with Client and associated personnel;
  • manage and control your section of the work according to agreed programmes and
  • be conversant with all programmes, specifications and related information for these works.

To cover your absence from site during holiday periods, you are to handover your duties to a delegate agreed with your Manager.
Safety
You are responsible for implementing and maintaining safe systems of work in accordance with Site Health and Safety Management procedures. This includes a regular assessment of new risks and hazards that may not be specifically covered by safety system documentation already in place.
 
Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Experience in primavera (P6)
  • Experience in project planning development and progress, including programme controls and programme loaded
  • Experience of working on a heavy civil engineering project
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Responsibilities areas are assigned to each planner in the “planning team organisation matrix” available under the “CVB programme” group and include:
  • Timely and accurate updates of progress against baseline
  • Develop construction phase programme and integrate with operational teams to derive optimum sequences etc
  • Development of short / medium planning with ops teams and to coordinate with master Programme
  • Management of technical Interfaces between the constructions, the various programme offices, the key suppliers inputs and all other parties involved with the programme.
  • Provide detailed support and assistance to the project in order to enable the team to monitor pinch-points on the critical path and test and change logic where previously agreed with operational managers and others responsible for onsite works.
  • Produce programmes and extract filters as required by site team, and monitor and filter critical paths for others to understand.
  • Discuss with operational managers, future works planned and obtain weekly site look-ahead programmes for P6 updates, when and as necessary.
  • Help to establish programmes needed for the assessment of new budget.
  • Helps to establish programme consequence of EWN, NCE and PMI
  • Supports the Planning Manager to issue monthly P6 programme for Tideway Delivery Team acceptance, with all requested appendixes.
