SENIOR EHS ADVISOR required by our client within the offshore oil and gas industry, to be assigned on a permanent basis, located in Ghana.
Duration: 1 year contract
POSITION SCOPE
The purpose of the Senior EHS Advisor – Well Engineering is to provide EHS support and guidance to the offshore Well Engineering team and Rig Contractor regarding all EHS matters. The Offshore EHS Advisors are the day-to-day offshore EHS interface with all personnel onboard the rig. In this role they apply analytical, technical and industry knowledge, standards and practices to drive continuous EHS improvement. This job targets an experienced professional with over 10 years’ experience
PRINCIPLE REQUIREMNETS
- Maintain a high level of visibility on the rig to participate, observe and coach personnel on working safely and conducting effective task controls such as Permit to Work and Task Risk Assessments Review the offshore work environments and equipment to identify hazards or improvement opportunities Monitor the implementation of applicable Safety Management Systems Provide EHS support and coaching for all offshore personnel Administer all TGL EHS reporting, recording and administration Ensure all incidents/accidents are jointly investigated and reported in accordance with TGL EHS reporting procedures.
- Maintain the TGL Master Corrective Action Register in a live format and review and monitor close outs and identify issues for the attention of rig management.
- Record, collate and report all EHS statistics in the form of Routine Monthly Reports, Environmental and End of Well reports.
- Monitor the Quarterly EHS Plan and keep it updated on a daily basis. Co-ordinate the collection of the POB listings at the end of the period and Ensure that the Work Control measures and the Permit to Work System are monitored to ensure compliance with procedures Participate in the rig induction process and provide specific briefings for new personnel to communicate the TGL EHS message.
- Provide support for emergency response activities including training, drills and incident response.
- Communicate pertinent best practices, Lessons Learned, safety and environmental alerts to rig crews. This includes presenting at least one company Safety rule and the EHS plan update at weekly safety meetings Organise and document audit and assurance activities.
- Assist with development of offshore EHS Plans and KPIs.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Senior Secondary School Diploma
- Preferable University Degree
- NEBOSH certificate or equivalent
- Passion for EHS
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a role providing EHS Support
- 5 years’ experience working offshore.
- Good interpersonal and coordination skills Competent with computer software packages Experience with and knowledge of environmental impacts
