PORTS ENGINEER required by our Client, a Renewables company, to be assigned on a Permanent basis, located in Boston, MA.


The Ports Engineer is a vital member of the construction package during the development and execution of the project off the coast of Massachusetts, USA. The Port Engineer will be responsible for the development and construction of our port facilities. The work will range over multiple port facilities with varying required degrees of upgrades from small upgrades to new construction of both marine structures and office/warehouse buildings.


  • Plan, design, construction monitoring, and contract management of ports required for the project.
  • Scoping consultancy and engineering works required by the project, including supervision.
  • Management of consultants, contractors, and stakeholders for the delivery of port infrastructures and facilities.
  • Provide technical support to the negotiations with Ports, either for managing or amending existing agreements, or new contracts.
  • To adhere to project program requirements.
  • Technical risks management, including ensuring internal stakeholders’ operational requirements are fulfilled.
  • Control and update forecasts for the cost and progress on port operations.
  • Provide ad hoc support on general engineering and management aspects of the project.
  • Recommend technical solutions or changes of proposed solutions.


  • A bachelor’s or graduate degree in civil engineering (preferred), or similar.
  • Experience in port development/construction (including permitting)
  • 4+ years of proven relevant engineering experience
  • IT literate with the ability to operate MS Office systems and other IT-based project management software.
  • Ability to be present in the Boston, New Bedford, and Martha’s Vineyard Area.
  • Knowledge of US health and safety and environmental legislation/regulations.
  • Experience working in a team and delivering against targets and reporting.
  • Pro-active and diligent approach.
  • Good interpersonal skills and team player.
  • Report writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to keep the overview, work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Project Management experience and certification (preferred, not required) or equivalent experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) in related discipline (preferred, not required).
