KNOWLEDGE MANAGER required by our Client in the Renewable Energies sector to be assigned on a Permanent basis, located in Boston, MA

POSITION SCOPE

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The KM will be an SME on facilitation skilled in researching, understanding, and predicting complicated group needs and leading experiences that satisfy them. Capable of designing interactions through combining tools, time, and talking promote high performance in a matrixed and fast paced environment. The KM will be specialized in certain methods such as conflict resolution, Continuous Improvement, design thinking, Risk Management, design sprints, and Agile methodologies.
  • Promote knowledge sharing through the organization's operational business processes and systems by strengthening links between knowledge sharing and the information systems, and improving integration among information systems in the organization, to facilitate seamless exchange of information across business group both internally and externally to a project.
  • Promote collaborative workshops on a regular and recurring basis with both internal and external participants.
  • Disseminate information about the organization's Lessons Learned process to internal and external audiences including Lessons Learned workshops, participation in orientation and training sessions, and external benchmarking and evaluation of opportunities.
  • Define the knowledge management strategy and maintain high quality, up-to-date, and searchable Lessons Learned content for audiences of varying skill level.
  • Constantly generate awareness and promote Lessons Learned across the business to lead the company to its ultimate goal of achieving a Knowledge Culture where learnings are seamlessly generated and adopted across all parts of the business.
  • Work effectively across a highly matrixed organization with senior stakeholders and all of the functional teams and projects in the offshore business to promote and develop learnings and critical lessons.
  • Maintain integrity, evaluate business impact, and track usage of the Lessons Learned database. Ensure stakeholders are actively entering and reviewing knowledge base content through the system.
  • Plan and drive learning workshops across different projects, functions and packages to capture and/or disseminate valuable learnings to improve company’s processes and current performance
  • Establish relevant guidelines or new practices based on agreed company’s critical knowledge and ensure these are shared across different segments and other global businesses.
  • Influencing change in the organization by driving a knowledge management culture at all levels of the organization.
  • Analyzing and reporting KPIs on the effectiveness of the new knowledge management programs by observing its usage and evaluate its impact in terms of the organizational benefits.
  • Utilize the knowledge base resources and design training module(s) for the staff and contractors to help them access the knowledge management system. Encourage the staff and workers to share knowledge effectively and efficiently.
  • Seek industry lessons and best practices to share and apply internally across projects and businesses

 

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

 

Possess a BS, BAS, BA, or BBA degree from an accredited institution (required), or MBA, M. Ed. or MS (preferred) with one of the following (or related) concentrations:

  • Knowledge Management or Knowledge Information Technology
  • Business Intelligence
  • International Business
  • Business Analytics
  • Psychology
  • Education, post-secondary
  • Computer Information Systems

Comprehensive understanding of offshore wind, offshore oil and gas, maritime transportation and logistics industries required:

  • 5 years industry experience with large scale projects
  • 5 years management and leadership experience
  • 5 years facilitation experience

Experience in developing knowledge management programs, facilitation sessions and related materials for adult learning, required:

  • Excellent Microsoft Office product knowledge
  • Proficiency with project management software
  • Oracle Knowledge Management Certified Implementation Specialist or similar
  • IT Information Library Foundations Certification (ITIL) or similar

 

Project Management Professional (PMP), preferred

 

Candidate should be able work in different locations to facilitate workshops and be available for international travel
