DIRECTOR – ORIGINATION required by our Client in the Renewables sector to be assigned on a Permanent basis, remote work or located in Boston, MA.

DURATION: Permanent

POSITION SCOPE

The Director- Origination East will be responsible for leading the Eastern sales team to drive the business growth for utility scale renewable projects. The primary focus of this position is to develop opportunities and negotiate agreements for the offtake of new projects. This position is remote, reporting to the VP of Origination.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain customer relationships with load serving entities, corporate energy buyers and energy brokers.
  • Manage and lead a team of professionals in prospecting for new project offtake opportunities.
  • Coordinate internal and external efforts necessary to develop profitable pricing and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Assess and translate market competition, industry trends, emerging customer challenges and changes in the marketplace into market strategies and product offerings. Develop tactical execution plans for target clients.
  •  Oversee negotiation of all power purchase agreements, and other contract structures executed by the East team.
  • Ability to create and participate in a team atmosphere by collaborating with internal departments including Development, Construction Services, Operations, Trading, Asset Management, Risk and Legal in support of sales process.
  • Effectively communicating business cases to management for key decisions.
  • Collaborate with Policy/Regulatory and Market Structure groups to identify and develop new market opportunities and craft value propositions to serve target market and/or customers.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong knowledge and experience in the renewable development or utility-scale energy infrastructure business strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of renewable energy markets and power market design.  
  • Establishes credibility throughout an organization, effectively developing and communicating solutions to complex business challenges and market opportunities.
  • Excellent decision making, project management, interpersonal, and communications skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and influencing skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Credible communicator and presenter at a senior level.
  • Experience/Training 7+ years of related

 

 

EXPERIENCE IN THE ENERGY INDUSTRY

  • Proven leadership skills Strong business acumen Required Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field
  • Advanced degree or MBA preferred
