CPI PSM and Handover Lead required by our Client in the Oil & Energy sector to be assigned on a Contract basis, located in Houston, TX

Duration:           April 2023 – April 2024 (with renewals)

POSITION SCOPE

Initially based in the Upstream Project Office in Houston, USA, the job holder will be responsible of the correct execution of the PSM (Preservation, Storage and Maintenance) scope and the handover process within the CPI package of the Mozambique LNG project. The job holder shall continue providing technical support to the project after delivery and during in-country activities and he/she will be based in a project office in France or Mozambique. The CPI package includes the following sub-packages: SPS (Subsea Production System), Umbilicals (onshore and offshore), Subsea Distribution System, Onshore Subsea Support Modules, Onshore MEG and Chemical injection modules, Onshore and Subsea Valves. CPI activities are performed in several locations, with main fabrication sites located in the USA (Texas and Florida), Brazil, Spain and Norway.

The project FID was taken in July 2019, with first fuel gas originally planned in 2023 and first LNG cargo in 2024. Due to the project suspension started in 2021, first cargo date has been postponed. The subsea field will be developed via 18-off subsea wells (7” Vertical Subsea Xmas Trees), 7-off 4-slot production manifolds with associated foundations, one MEG manifold, 36-off 8” flexible jumpers, 3-off 22” trunk lines (approximately 120km total length), 1-off 6” and 1-off 8” MEG lines (approximately 40km length each), 18-off 10” in-field flowlines (825 Alloy clad), 4” in-field MEG lines, associated ILTs and FLETs for all pipelines and flowlines, 25-off Subsea Control Modules for X-mas Trees and manifolds, 4-off Subsea Routers Modules, 4-off onshore umbilicals (around 16km total length, 2-off main tie-back umbilicals (approximately 75km total length), 5-off in-field umbilicals (approximately 31km total length), 12-off UTA assemblies + electro hydraulic flying leads, rigid jumpers and spools (16” and 22”). Controls, MEG/MeOH and Chemical injection will be provided via two 600 t Onshore Subsea Support Equipment Modules (OSSEM)

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The job holder is responsible, within the CPI and Subsea Package of the MzLNG project, for the technical activities related to the PSM (Preservation, Storage and Maintenance) and Handover scope. As such, the job holder is responsible for:

  • The review and the final acceptance of the PSM technical documentation issued by the CPI contractors
  • The supervision and the coordination of the preservation, storage and maintenance activities
  • The preparation of the technical scope to be performed as part of the mobilization plan before transportation of the CPI equipment to Mozambique
  • The definition and finalization of the external and internal handover processes
  • The support to the Logistic team in the definition and the finalization of the in-country logistic scope
  • The support to the Interface team on Interfaces between CPI and other disciplines (Drilling, EPCI, Onshore, Operations, etc.)

The job holder shall guarantee interface and engineering coordination in continuity with the previous position of technical manager. The job holder will remain, during the project suspension and the restart phases, the correspondent for any occurring activity related to the PSM of the CPI equipment. The job holder shall liaise permanently with other package leads and other technical engineers to ensure adequacy and consistency of the technical work performed by CPI contractors. The job holder shall coordinate with the inspection teams onsite to ensure that all preservation, maintenance, and mobilization activities performed by CPI contractors are completed in a timely manner and are to the required quality level of completion for their final delivery. The job holder will support the drilling and the logistic team in the definition of the in-country scope, incl. transportation, SRT, storage and PLT. The job holder participates to the achievement of the CPI team objectives in terms of HSE, quality, costs and schedule.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • Minimum 15 years in the execution phase of subsea projects and minimum 5 years in a technical coordination role.
  • Ability to multi-task and work as part of small and flexible team, adopting a pragmatic approach to problem solving situations.
  • Availability to work at site and in-country.
  • Fluid communicator capable to represent the project in front of third parties and other stakeholders in a professional and organized manner.
  • Fluent in English. French and Portuguese as a bonus.
