Cost Controller required by our Client in the Renewables sector to be assigned on a Contract basis, located in Boston, MA


Duration:           one year+ (ongoing)




The Cost Controller is a role within the Offshore Wind Project Controls team for the New England Wind project, a 2000 MW project to serve the state of Connecticut and Massachusetts. The successful candidate will report to the Project Senior Manager Cost Control and work within a multinational and multi-function team to support the project’s cost control program.  The cost control team is responsible for organizing project cost elements necessary for planning, implementation, and timely delivery to support all packages. 


The successful candidate will be part of a fast-paced environment with demanding and ever-changing needs and priorities that are consistent with Offshore Wind projects. The position will be responsible for several packages. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, organized, and can work well individually or as part of a team




  • Maintenance of the monthly project commitment and expenditure process for Package reporting to individual Package Managers
  • Prepare monthly forecast update, reconciliation and reports within project procedure.
  • Create purchase requisitions, purchase orders, accruals and goods received (GRN’s); as well as closing down PO’s in SAP.
  • Coordinate and lead the month-end Value of Work Done (accruals/prepayments) process.
  • Support and maintain the invoice control process with the relevant package managers.
  • Provide ad-hoc ‘cost control’ support to the Project
  • Support Management of consultancy framework agreements: Control invoices, cumulative spent and identify when a call-off has expired.
  • Support additional call-offs when needed with the support from contracts and legal departments.
  • Support cost management of resources.
  • Liaise with the Cost Control Manager, Project Controls Manager, Project Planner, Risk Manager and Change Manager in order to understand project issues and anticipate (and mitigate) their impact on the project’s budget.





  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 years of experience in project cost and forecasting
  • Experience on EPC projects, preferably in the Renewable (wind, solar and energy storage), other power generation development or Energy sectors.
  • Experience with SAP ERP systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency using IT applications such as MS Office, Advanced user of Excel, Document Management Systems
  • Ability to work with global team members and cultures.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
