PROCESS ENGINEER required by our Client, an Oil and Gas Operator, to be assigned on a Contract basis located in London, United Kingdom. May relocate to Site during Construction activities at Engineering completion or provide remote support from home office.

DURATION           1 year contract with possible extensions


  • Reporting to Process Engineering Manager. Work in the process engineering team in the over all engineering organisation.
  • Work in the process discipline organization of 4 FTE on Company’s side and around 120 FTE on Contractor’s side, including process technologies, utilities and offsite technologies, and loss prevention.
  • Assure the process discipline issuance, review, and approval of over 2,000 technical documents.
  • Manage the process discipline development of engineering specifications and provide quality assurance in the procurement of materials, equipment and services to ensure conformity with sound engineering practice and cost effectiveness. Support to other discipline leaders on the overall 177 PO’s having a total value of USD 3 Billion.
  • Ensure all Project HSE requirements are adhered to and implemented. Ensure HSE is emphasized throughout all process design activities. Play an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed.
  • Complete execution of process design aspects in accordance with project standards and guidelines, procedures, Quality Program, project plans and contractual obligations.
  • Review and verify EPC Contractor’s remaining detailed engineering deliverables, including construction issue piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), verification of vendor data, completion of vendor HAZOP studies, close out of remaining HAZOP actions.
  • Execute the onshore facility performance test procedures, coordinating all activities with operations and troubleshooting issues as required.  Work with contractor to prepare the PTP reports.
  • Interface between offshore engineering and operating teams to ensure planning and coordination between gas delivery and Onshore processing requirements.
  • Responsible for process engineering activities in utilities and OSBL units
  • Responsible for process engineering key input to alarm management.
  • Conduct process discipline detailed evaluation and technical audit of various critical plant areas.
  • During site activities, avoid Contractor stand-by / delay by answering quickly to site queries and unexpected technical site problems, oversee rectification of punch list items, and completion of on-site tests.
  • Support construction team, including managing any construction driven mark-ups / changes to the detailed engineering design basis.
  • Work with commissioning and construction teams to identify and plan system turnover requirements to support timely facility start-up.
  • Support commissioning execution, including review of procedures for pre-commissioning and commissioning, field support for the commissioning team, and troubleshooting of any issues.  Manage any commissioning changes to the detailed engineering design basis.
  • Interface between Operations and on-site vendor teams for Commissioning and start-up Operations activities, e.g. APCI, BASF, NOV.
  • Support operations start-up execution, including development and review of start-up procedures, field support for the start-up operating team, and troubleshooting of any issues.  Manage any changes to the detailed engineering design basis


  • Degree in appropriate Engineering discipline.
  • Proficient in English language.
  • Eight (8) or more years’ experience in Oil and Gas and large projects.
  • Experience with LNG project process design requirements and work processes through EPC, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use HYSYS/UNISIM.
  • Experience working with Utilities, MEG and OSBL units.
  • Experience working within a value assurance framework and detailed knowledge of the application of Process Safety in operations.
  • Commissioning and start-up experience preferable.
