POSITION SCOPE

Reports to Maintenance Manager

Industrial Millwrights are skilled tradespeople responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment. They play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and productivity of manufacturing plants, power stations, and other industrial facilities.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, disassemble, and relocate industrial machinery and equipment according to blueprints and specifications
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions in machinery and equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment
  • Align, level, and adjust machinery to ensure proper operation and precision
  • Install and maintain bearings, belts, couplings, and other mechanical components
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform their duties safely and efficiently
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics to understand machine specifications and installation requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete projects efficiently and safely
  • Comply with all safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial millwright work or a related trade
  • NCCER Certification is preferred.
  • Must be proficient in leveling with a 98 level, laser alignment, pipe stress, and compressor installation.
  • Must know how to use hydraulic torque equipment is a plus.
  • Proven ability to install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical principles
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
