DATA TECHNICIAN is required by our Client, to be assigned on a Permanent basis located in Bristol, UK. This is a hybrid position – 3 days a week in office.

POSITION SCOPE

The candidate will be supporting our UK Engineering Department with a primary focus on the delivery of our Electrical Design Scopes for HPC.

Under the authority of the UK Technical Manager (line manager), the candidate will be operationally working for our Lead Engineer. Due to the nature of skills/competencies required, the candidate will also be providing functional guidance and support from our Project Control Manager in France.

The candidate oversees the creation and modifications of project deliverables. The candidate must ensure the respect of the technical requirements, the high-quality levels expected within the nuclear industry as well as the deadlines.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Export data files from Graphical Database (E3D)
• Manipulate Mass Data within Excel.
• Present data within agreed format for technical construction activities to be followed within a logical sequence.
• Configuration management skills ensuring accurate records are kept for quality and audit purposes
• Have a strong attention to details

This role will suit a candidate used to enter and manipulate data, with strong Excel skills who would be looking to expand to a more technical environment with a view to progression to configuration management or project controls.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

General and Technical Background:

• Educational/Professional experiences demonstrating being strongly organised (essential)
• Educational/Professional experiences where attention to detail is key (essential)
• Knowledge of working autonomously as well as within a team (desirable)
• Construction Engineering and Building Services interest (desirable)
• Specific knowledge of either electrical, mechanical, or structural engineering (desirable)
• Heavy industry large project experience (desirable

Hard skills:

• Micro Soft Excel Advanced User (essential), including development of macros and knowledge of VBA code.
• Microsoft Office Pack user (essential)
• 3D Review tools Navisworks or similar user (desirable)
• Graphical Databases (AVEVA E3D) (desirable)

Soft Skills:

• Good organisational, writing, and oral expression skills in English are essential for the realisation of the activities of document production, steering and interfaces with the various correspondents.
• Autonomy while comfortable working as part of an MDT (multi-disciplinary team), ability to anticipate difficulties and able to balance priorities.

Language skills:

• English Fluent: writing, reading, listening, and speaking (essential)
